The Ugly Museum has a really nice and good example of story this time. We both use the same news which is the recent virus ” 2019-NCOV “. 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a virus (more specifically, a coronavirus) identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China. Early on, many of the patients in the outbreak in Wuhan, China reportedly had some link to a large seafood and animal market, suggesting animal-to-person spread. However, a growing number of patients reportedly have not had exposure to animal markets, indicating person-to-person spread is occurring. The Ugly Museum will use the mask to look at the world at this difficult time.
The story happened in Wuhan during the Spring Festival, the main character Lilly , Wuhan student, want to buy a mask. Wuhan city is locked and she can’t go back to her family to enjoy the Spring Festival. Lilly go back to her apartment and drop her stuffs, she notice that she have to buy a mask to avoid the virus. So Lilly go to the store but all the masks are already sold out. She left the store and notice that a seller is selling the masks which he bought from the store. The seller rise the price again and again. The price of each N95 mask is 2.5 US but the seller rise the price from 5 us for each one to the 50 for each one. With such a high price, finally people can not tolerate his behavior no more and take away all his masks. Lilly also take some of the mask and the seller lose everything because of his selfish and greed.
It’s seems like a small story and pretty common in our daily life. Buy out the inventory and start the price is not the first time I see. The Ugly Museum indicate the topic and show us the story and opinion logically. People now always think about themselves, they can’t notice what they did brought a serious affect and they just want to make a quick money, that’s not good. It’s a really hard time and situation is serious. Everyone should help each other at this time not make money during the nation crisis. We should refuse these things happen and help more people who need help. Nation is in difficulty, as a member of the nation, we should be more than willing to help. I saw lots of people sending materials & money to the Wuhan and donation platform. Hope everyone can make it through the Spring Festival and wish those patients can get well soon.
